Shrinking feet, popping muscles, moving bones….

Silly Sunday topic although, actually, I am completely serious…

Maybe I am the only one who will find it interesting….. my feet shrank!  No lie!!   A few years ago, I used to never wear boots and my friend, Mark, who is always so thoughtful bought me a pair of those expensive Merrel boots for Christmas. I didn’t have any warm boots and my feet were always frozen.   They are really nice, sturdy, will last for years,  and warm!  Great for snow blowing and trudging into work and I love them.   I always wore them with two pairs of socks.

If you are from Buffalo, you know we had a big quick snow happening here on Thursday.  I went out to clean out the driveway and thought, “Why are these boots so big?”   I am wearing two pair of socks and my feet are moving in them a lot.  Then I remembered that I thought it is strange  that I keep buying sneakers that are a size smaller.   Ohhhhhhhh…..My feet shrank!   Giggles! Seriously!   When I came in, I took off the boots and decided to change socks.  Then I noticed another weird things.  Bones in my feet!!  Like bones I didn’t know existed!  There is one behind my left big toe that just fascinates me when it moves. And veins!!  I can actually see the veins in my feet.

That’s not all though, there are other weird things.  I know a lot of  women are shave resistant all winter but I am not that kind of girl. Ewwwww…..  I shave my legs all year long.  And the other day in the shower I noticed that I am getting like different muscles that pop out when I shave my legs.  You know the contortions we go through to  get all the spots.   And then suddenly a muscle is popping out!  It’s really cool! Sometimes I just sit in bed and move my legs around to watch them move.

Speaking of that, it is amazing how much easier it actually is to,shave my legs!   How much easier to paint my toenails. Easier to run up and down the stairs.  Easier to hike it up to my third floor classroom. Easier to shovel out the driveway!   Everything is easier.

Then there is the muscles in  my arms.  Nancy, my Pilates teacher, has me use this bar thing and when I pull it, these muscles just like pop out on arm.  They were never there, I swear.   Or we will do something and I put my hand on my body because I actually can feel it from the outside.  I just am amazed.

Did you know that when you walk and put your hands on your hips, stuff in there is moving while you do???    I don’t remember feeling any of that my entire adult life.  I feel like when a baby picks up,their hand and realizes it moves!  Like …… Wow!!!

My bracelets got bigger!  They are sliding everywhere on my wrists, just like regular people!!   I love being like regular people!

Yesterday, I was throwing on some clothes  to hit the grocery store and I don’t look all that pulled together on Saturdays.  It’s not a school day and sorry, I don’t care if I am a mess.  Anyway, I had on gray exercise type pants and a top.  I looked myself once over in the mirror.   I thought it was weird.  I look different.  Sort of more like how other people look.  My waist is moving inward…. my body looks more proportional. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of areas that need improvement.  But, I just look different to myself.

I took a picture of it and sent it to Dr. Jack with a note…   “I haven’t been dropping a lot of weight lately, but my body is starting to look different. Looks more like other people.”  Dr. Jack: “It has for awhile. You are just noticing it now.”   Me: “Oh….”

How didn’t I notice before!  It’s amazing isn’t it, how when you just keep on here, staying the course, things just…. change!!

Oh! Look!!  When I hit the publish button this little bone pops up on the back of my hand…. awesome!!!
