The people who don’t recognize me….

It’s happened to me three times in the last five days.  Yesterday, I was in Wegman’s shopping and saw a former student.  I was so happy to see him, as I had not in many years.  He was in getting some Super Bowl snacks, and I had a cart filled with yummy veggies, and we met up at the checkout.     “Mrs.  O!!   I hardly recognized you.”

Same Friday night, I was working at Walmart and I was across from a long time friend in the checkout line.  I called over to him, he looked around and went about his business.  The cashier asked, “Do you know Chris? She just called to you.”  I started walking over watching his puzzled expression. His response was the same.  “Chris, I almost didn’t recognize you.”

Now, you can tell me it’s the weight or the fact that I cut my hair, but there really is more to it.   It’s a funny thing about this miraculous plan of Dr. Jack’s, but for whatever reason, it changes how you look.  Your face changes.    I think it’s a total change, from the inside out.   The puffy eyes go, your skin clears up,  your whole face changes.

What’s even more interesting to me, are the people who tell me that it isn’t just my appearance that is changing, but also,  that I am.  I think when the stress of disease leaves you, when you truly start to feel better inside, you do change!  You aren’t spending valuable energy on trying to fake feeling well.  So you can focus your energy elsewhere.  Suddenly, your thought process is clearer, and your thoughts fire up faster. That awful brain fog clears.

I don’t know what it all is but I think that when your cells are finally getting what they need, it’s a huge snowball effect.  Suddenly inside, everything is working the way it was intended to.  Processes that are supposed to happen do!  You lose the achiness, the sore muscles, the constant digestive issues.   All of a sudden everything is working at its peak!  It’s amazing that you can do all that just be eating yummy things found in the grocery store and by supplementing it with some extra nutritional boosts.  Wow!

Here is hoping when you see me next, you don’t recognize me either!

Hugs,

Chris
