I, jokingly, tell people all the time that Dr. Jack does all the hard work and all I do is just eat. In reality, that statement is more truth than a giggle. When I was looking for Dr. Jack, I admit, that I was really tired. I had tried every single kind of diet that you can imagine and all with limited or no success. It always was the same story, not unlike a little gerbil running on a wheel, getting nowhere.
I would hear about someone’s great success story or read it somewhere. I would run to Barnes and Noble, or jump on Amazon, buy whatever the book or manual was along with the food needed to follow it. I would run home and read it cover to cover, and when it didn’t work, I would go back and try to figure out what I was doing wrong. I would try different things and then I would still be frustrated and try again, but the cycle was endless and the solutions no where to be found. I would call the success story that I knew, and ask them what they did. I would try to follow their plan to the letter of the law, but it always ended the same. I ended it exhausted, discouraged and with materials I gave away to others.
When I found Dr. Jack, I was scared it would be the same, but, he said three things that sealed the deal:
1. I will believe whatever you tell me.
2. We are a team, you and I, working together.
3. If things don’t work then it is my problem to figure out why.
These things were the most comforting things I had heard in a long time. That was the biggest load off my mind because the mystery of what was or was not working would be explained and I wouldn’t have to be the one who figured it out by trial and error. Whew!!!!!! This was easy!!! All I had to do was just follow the plan, write down what I ate, take my supplements, drink water and report back to him. How much easier could this be?
There were times, when things slowed down and I felt as though I had made a mistake and then, Dr. Jack would find this miniscule thing, tell me what to change and suddenly the weight was falling off again. He never blamed me for messing up, but I have not given him reason to either. What might have gone wrong, has always been an innocent mistake or something that I did not completely understand.
In reality, Dr. Jack has done all the hard work! He has spent a lot of years researching, attending conferences and been involved in cutting edge information. He travels all over the country, is constantly involved in research and watching webinars about health related topics. That is the big difference between what he offers and some other things I have tried. I mean no offense to anyone who follows another program, but honestly? I had BIG problems when I met him. And those problems needed someone who knew what he was doing.
I can’t get what I need from someone who just followed a program before I did. That wasn’t going to cut it, because there are these little quirky things when you have Hashimoto’s and you need someone trained in finding them in order for you to truly be successful.
Dr. Jack is not a book or a manual. That is the best gift he offers! He is a live human being with a vast amount of information, who lives this life himself. What you get from him is a complete education. I always say that I truly never understood Hashimoto’s Disease until I had listened to him speak. No one had ever bothered to explain it to me so that I understood exactly what was wrong. Once you understand it, then you can understand the “whys” of what he is asking you to do to fix it. The rest is the easy part.
Whenever I have had a problem or didn’t understand something, or questioned what was involved in the program, he was an email away. He would explain the science behind the issue and how it could be fixed. So in all honestly the only work I have really done……… is EAT!! How great is that???
