Shhhhhh….. Secrets about Dr. Jack…shhhhhhh…

imageShhhhhhh….. No one tell….Dr. Jack is away on family business this weekend.  He is extremely busy and he won’t have time to read here for a while……….So shhhhhh…. I am telling secrets about him while he is gone,  no one tell….shhhhhhhhhhhh….. The truth is he is a modest man, and we argue about whose success is the hundred pounds.  Whenever I say it’s him, he says it is me.  We go back and forth.   We finally agreed to split the credit, team effort, team win.  So while he is gone, and busy, I thought I would share my favorite things about him… The truth is when I first talked to him, I knew he was a special kind of doctor, but I had no idea the profound impact he would have on my life.  I tell him all the time, I prayed for him and God sent him, because God knew how much I needed his help. And it wouldn’t have been the same if it was someone else.  I needed HIS help!   He gets embarrassed and tries to push me off that topic by changing the subject,  but it is the truth.  Well, he is gone for weekend, so I can just talk away, giggles……..Just shhhhhhhhhhhh……

  1. He is very passionate about his work.   I challenge you to find another doctor who puts in the effort he puts in.  He is constantly going to one going educational thing after another to help with his work.  In the ten months I have known him, I know of tons of times he has gone to conferences or workshops. Some out of the area, some requiring travel and time away from home.    Those are just the ones he went to, not including what he is learning through online education.  He puts a ton of effort into staying current with his own education to better help his patients.  He is constantly seeking information.
  2. He is an extremely caring doctor.  He knows your name.  You are not  a number or a file.   He remembers things about you and your situation. When you mention a friend your referred, he knows exactly who they are. You are a human being with needs and concerns and he is willing to address whatever your issue is.  If he doesn’t know an answer, he gets one from the hundreds of doctors he networks with.  Whatever I have asked, has been answered.  And the answer has always been thorough and complete.mWhen I sent a text saying I was having an allergic reaction, he was asking for photos, and then forwarding advice. When I complained of a uti, I was given immediate advice that made it disappear in hours, not weeks.
  3. He is not afraid to tell it to you like it is.  I hate when people just tell me what I want to hear. I would just rather someone be more direct, which I respect far more.  When I have said things Dr. Jack does not agree with, then he tells me so, honestly and directly.  When we have gone back and forth and I knew I was being stubborn, and I felt the need to apologize, he has been professional, accepting my apology, but still pushing me to do what is best for my health. He wants me to feel good, to heal, and be physically fit.  He does not want me to fail.  He wants me to have the best life I can.
  4. He lives this lifestyle.  Dr. Jack does not just tell people to eat this way and live this way.  He eats this way, and rarely, if ever, eats off program.  He is extremely healthy, very physically active and does not ask you to do what he does not do. If you look at his picture you can see how healthy he is.   He believes in his own program, and that, to me, is a big factor in my success.  I have sat at plenty of appointments where people told me that I should live healthier, only to see them eating terribly or smoking outside.  He is all about health and he lives what he talks about because he believes in this lifestyle for himself.  When you ask him about his daily routine, it looks just like your own. When you want to try something, he is right there with advice because he has done it, too.
  5. He does not recommend you take things he hasn’t tried. One time, I asked about a certain supplement.  He started telling me how he had taken it despite not needing it, because he wanted to know its effect.  I thought, he is taking stuff just to see how it affects his own body???   He kind of uses himself as an experiment.  I think that is amazing!   He is not dependent on reading literature to know what effect something has but tried it out on himself, knows exactly how much you should take and when.
  6. Dr. Jack is a regular person.  He is a completely devoted husband and father and his family means everything to him.  He has a wife and kids.  He is helping with kids sports and running them around just like real people.  Like all of us, he is juggling a lot of balls in the air, and if any are dropping, you don’t see it.  He treats you like you are as important to him as everything else.  He has a very busy life but manages to squeeze in exercise and friends, and especially his faith.  His parents meant the world to him as do his siblings, and he always speaks so fondly of them.  One of my favorite days, he was talking of his mother in law and it was obvious how much he loves her, and that makes me smile.  He also plays the trumpet beautifully which he uses to relax himself, and loves sports.  He is a huge Bills fan and that is a big plus in my book!
  7. He truly wants to heal people.  When you start working with him you find out that your success is as important to him as it is to you.  That kept me going on a lot of difficult days. I felt like I would be letting him down as much as myself.  When you say you want to try an activity, he helps you get started.  If it weren’t for Dr. Jack I would still be afraid to try new things, but he is always telling me to live!!  Go out, try, do it, if it doesn’t work, try again! Find something new! Live!!  Just go and enjoy your life! I needed that…. I needed someone to tell me that it was okay to do that,  and for that I am eternally grateful.
  8. He is extremely kind.  When I had hard things going on, he was always there with an ear to listen and some good advice.  The worth of that I can never repay. I am not at a place yet where I feel like I can share lots about that. Just know, I showed up at his feet not with a bag of emotional stuff, but more like an entire train.  Little by little, week by week, he has helped me.  He has helped me to let go of things, to handle others, to make peace with the rest.  He always reminds me that I am a decent human being, kind to others, and I deserve to have good happen in my life.  He taught me all about how to dream for better and how to get it. His kindness in helping me handle my baggage has reduced it to a small purse worth.  Much easier to carry. …..   A debt which cannot be repaid no matter how hard I might try.
  9. He is more happy about your success than you are.  Truly!!   When you do well he is the first to congratulate, to be happy for you and he won’t take any credit despite the fact that he did half the work. When things don’t go well, he has solutions.  He is very quick to praise.  The day I finally made the 100 pounds my phone rang as soon as he returned from his run.  He was so happy, it was contagious.  He congratulated me and I congratulated him. And I swear he was more ecstatic than I was!!  It was a great day for both of us.
  10. You will never find any other doctor like him ever again.  Of all the people I have ever worked with, he stands so far removed from the pack, it is no contest.  I have never had a doctor or health professional who cared so much about me or in helping me through it all, the good, the bad and the ugly.    No one has cared about me as much as he has.  He is always helping me and helping me to understand so I can help myself.
  11. For goodness sake, whatever you do do not refer to him as a weight loss doctor… He wouldn’t like that at all!  He is a doctor whose goal it is to help you be healthy and weight falling off is a side effect of that.  He is all about health.  Weight loss is just a benefit. I heard someone at a seminar say to him that he is a good weight loss doctor and I swear I watched the hair on his head stand up, and his posture grew about three inches as he explained how he just wants people to achieve optimal health.
  12. He can tell you by remote that you need a chiropractor.  He is a chiropractor, but one day I was talking about weird leg cramps, and he found me a chiropractor who was near my job at Walmart! Turns out I was an alignment mess and now? Haven’t had a cramp since!!

I truly owe him so much.  He is an amazing man,  and I am beyond blessed to work with him.  People talk about life changing weight loss, but the truth of this story is, if I had lost only twenty pounds and my symptoms? I still would have been okay with it, but it is what he has done that has totally changed who I am inside.  The hundred pounds and more to come is just a bonus.  Look at my face.. The real change has happened behind my eyes!

It’s impossible to describe that to you or to him.  As soon as I try to tell him he gets quiet, and embarrassed.  But it is so true.  Since no one lives inside here but me, then only I really know,  but it is kind of like I was a hoarder of life experiences that I hung onto.  Bad, negative and horrific experiences have filled lots of corners of my heart,  and he came through clearing out one mess at a time.  Inside I feel like, all clean and neat with lots of room for new things… New experiences, new friends to mix in with the wonderfullllll friends I have, room for happy things.

He has completely and totally changed my life…… And he can change yours, too!

Hugssssssss

Chris
